Youth Sports

General League Guidelines

1. Teams for participants cannot be formed without coaches. If you would like to coach or know someone who would, please fill out the information for coaching on the registration form or contact our sports director through the information below. Coaches will need to fill out a volunteer application/background check and conduct an online training.

2.  A $10 registration fee and a copy of the participant’s birth certificate MUST be turned in with the registration form before the registration deadline. No participant will be placed on a team until the registration fee has been paid. The registration fee is non-refundable once teams have been formed.

3. Practice and regular season games may be held Monday through Saturday. There might only be one game per week or possibly 4 games during a week depending on inclement weather or other circumstances.

4. Practices will begin in April. Games will begin in May and will continue through June.

5. Coach Pitch Leagues are availble for all kids in Henry County, the city of Martinsville and surrounding areas. All other baseball and softball leagues are available for the youth who attend Martinsville City Schools, Carlisle and those who are home-schooled. If your child attends a HCPS, please see HCP&R for more information.

6. Teams will be made appropriately (requests will not be granted due to enrollment process). Late registrations may be placed on a waiting list. Please adhere to the registration deadline.

7. Parents/guardians are responsible for their child's transportation to and from practices and games. Players will not be assigned to a specific team for ride arrangements.

8. This league is provided for the children to have fun, learn athletic and life skills and have social interaction. As a parent/guardian, you will be expected to behave in an appropriate manner at all practices and games. Parents/guardians who behave in an inappropriate manner will cause their child to be dismissed from the league.

9. Please visit our YMCA website for more information on child abuse prevention, including guidance on appropriate boundaries and the steps to take if someone attempts to break the rules or violate those boundaries.
