Youth Sports

General League Guidelines

1. Teams cannot be formed without coaches. If you’re interested in coaching or know someone who would be, please provide their information on the registration form or contact our sports director using the information below.

2. A $10 registration fee and a copy of the participant’s birth certificate MUST be submitted with the registration form before the deadline. If you’ve already submitted a birth certificate for sports programs at the YMCA, we should have it on file. The registration fee is non-refundable once teams are formed.

3. Practices and regular season games may be held Monday through Saturday. Depending on weather or other factors, there may be one game per week or up to four games in a week.

4. Practices will begin in April, with games starting in May and continuing through July.

5. Coach Pitch Baseball is available for all kids in both Henry County and Martinsville City. Older baseball and softball leagues are available for youth who attend Martinsville City Schools, Carlisle, homeschooling, etc. If your child attends HCPS, please contact Henry County Parks and Recreation for more information.

6. Teams will be formed appropriately. NO requests will be accepted. Late registrations may be placed on a different team than the previous year or added to a waiting list if teams are full.

7. Parents/guardians are responsible for their child’s transportation to and from practices and games. Players will not be assigned to a specific team based on ride arrangements.

8. This league is designed for children to have fun, learn athletic and life skills, and interact socially. Parents/guardians are expected to behave appropriately at all practices and games. Inappropriate behavior by parents/guardians may result in their child being dismissed from the league.
